Who We Are
A sequoia never grows tall on its own. It grows in a grove — roots intertwined, holding one another up. We believe the Church is meant to grow the same way: together, in community, strong in Christ.
Sequoia Community Church held its first gathering on April 30, 2026, and became official that July — The vision behind it started earlier, in prayer. When we asked God why He'd have us start a church, His answer was simple: “I want it to carry your DNA.”
Four words came out of that season —
Authentic, Community, Discipleship, Care — and they've shaped everything since.
Our Mission
Sequoia Community Church is a church rooted in authentic relationships, united and strengthened in community, transformed through discipleship, and shepherded with genuine care.
Our Vision
We believe life is best shared, discipleship best formed, and leaders best raised in the soil of small groups — where members are known, shepherded, and sent out to serve. As small groups multiply, members become spiritual fathers and mothers, the whole body grows in maturity and number, and our community feels and
reflects the tangible love of Christ.
Our Culture
Five things shape how we do life together:
Ownership over spectatorship — every part of the body does its share (Eph. 4:16).
Anointing over convenience — we want everyone serving in the place they're truly gifted, not just wherever's easiest (Gal. 3:27).
Plurality of leadership — we're building a team of elders, not a solo act (Titus 1:5).
Maturity over talent — we value character as much as gifting (1 Tim. 3:6).
Administration over chaos — being led by the Spirit doesn't mean being disorganized (1 Cor. 12:28).
